I can't see much that needs tweaking for 'plan B' to be honest. All we have to do as commanders is limit the areas of operation so that Germans are in a position to make life difficult for the allies. It would be a bit rubbish if allies have free reign and can move from place to place with impunity and Germans never see another player until the last hour of the 24hrs!
There are so many factors at play here and its been slow with players booking for every game this year - so hold tight, it will be OK on the day. ![]()
Boryzyn - 55 incl organisers
Freshman - 43 incl organisers
Caen - heh, impossible to be definite!
Monte Cassino - 35 incl organisers
Dragoon - 35 incl organisers
Jedburgh - 29 incl organisers (to date)

My cheque is in the post at the moment, application for jedburgh is in with it, but if you are short of Germans in the end then I don't mind changing to join them.
Do we need to be thinking about this sort of thing?

Its nice of him to put the game before his preference but I don't think we can push people one way or the other directly... however, how about announcing the position of allied places now and making it clear that once the Jed place has gone it has gone - and SAS places are severly limited depending on German bookings.
So...
We only have one Jed place left after Wraith's place to make three teams of three.
Two places left for SAS with make two teams of four plus CO in camp (or one places left if Pete wants to include himself in a team).
If we announce only three Allied places left then that might give a flurry of bookings to sort that out. Thereafter it will just be getting jerry in until places reach 20 booked Germans. Once we get to that point we can have the option of adding four places for another SAS team.

Good idea, I'll post that up now. I'm assuming Pete will stay in camp to man the radio or rotate with another 4-man team.

Well, it looks like I'll have no choice now!

Sorry, Pete, didn't mean to dictate that you should do one thing or another, there's no problem being able to join a team, there's no point in being so strict about the numbers just for the sake of accuracy if it means we or others miss out.
As it stands I reckon two 4 man Jed teams will be best and the SAS can organise however they see fit, surely?

That's how I saw it - four man teams sent out so Pete has the option to stay in camp or otherwise attach himself to any SAS team when he is not in the camp. Pete can do what he likes in other words!

Yes, sorry Pete. I didn't mean that to come across as it did.
What I meant was that you would be able to organise to ensure that someone was in camp to man the radio (or take it with you I guess) so we shouldn't worry too much about SAS numbers.
True too about the Jeds too I suppose. We don't have to be anal about accuracy just because of history. Perhaps we could even for a two-man Jed team and say that they'd lost a man on the drop or summat.
Anyway, didn't mean to be dictatorial; I was just looking for a way to encourage bookings and create a sense of urgency.

No offence taken at all!
I was planning on spending most of day 1 in camp anyway. If nothing else, I can improve the camp quite a bit while the patrols are out, with a fire pit, fire reflector, etc.
4 man Jed teams makes sense game wise, as both Steve and Stu can command one each. None of the others are really capable of doing that if we have proper, 3 man teams. I just hope we get enough SAS to have 4 man patrols. That said, it's the Germans that it hinges on. At the moment, with 13, plus 3 organisers, it's just about do-able. If we can just get 5 or 6 more, we'll be laughing. I really don't want to change the plan too much (because I worked so hard and for so long on this one!).

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
I'd go for three man teams for the Jeds and keep it accurate. OK, there may not be a perfect third team leader but we should give players responsibility. Some players will need to be carried but some can take on the role. With two solid teams then nothing should go tits up even if the third team is careless/reckless/unskilled, in any case they will be operating under orders of CO.
Squad leader pool
Headshot
Stu Dunn
Martin Sole (Bedsnherts) - mature, done training, maximum effort put into event, has run an event himself
Wraith666 (Paul Saunders) - an opportunity to put his money where his mouth is (OK, this is a wild card!)
Not squad leaders
Andy Kneale (Steiner) - tactically unaware, slow reaction
Stephen Saunders - unknown entity
Richard Vaughan - indecisive, clumsy
Matt Webb (Webby) - not a team player

I'd definitely go with Martin for this.

Yes, definitely Martin. He worked hard on the training day and deserves a squad leader role.

I think I should have Webby in my squad too, I need to keep him on a tight leash I reckon.
Stephen Saunders is Martin's mate so it makes sense to put them together.
I reckon:
Martin
Stephen Saunders
Steiner
Stu
Wraith
Lardy
Me
Webby

Looks good to me.
Keith has had his operation delayed by two weeks so he will be booking in to Jedburgh. Just a chance Dave B might too (no idea about vehicles at this stage though - I imagine this is still part of police evidence so N/A).

Good news about Keith. Would be nice if Dave B can make it but, I suspect he won't!

Ran into the Blaggers down at Dorking today - minus Mr B. (Vietnam day down there) they said they will be booking into Jedburgh in the near future.

message from Ed , we won't see them all weekend and will post the keys to me . I'm planning on going up Friday night
My James has expressed a wish to come on the German side, now he has finished Uni. It will depend on the job front between now and then though - he has an overdraft to pay off!

Yep, me too...in fact so are some of the players at the nearby campsite.
